I find it difficult to keep in touch with family, and it's often hard to know what to get people for birthdays and holidays. It occurred to me that one of the best presents I can give is my thanks. I will write a "thank you" note on my birthday to my father, expressing to him how much I appreciate all he did for me as a single dad, how much I love him, and how grateful I am for all the opportunities he helped to create for me. I will write a "thank you" note on my father's birthday to my grandmother. I will write a "thank you" note on my husband's birthday to my mother-in-law. I am grateful that these people are all in my life, and I want to make sure they know it.
